One of my friend just told me the meaning of Kaur is princess and it is also the defacto surname ( the lastname ) of sikh women. Princess of the house, i.e daugheter of the house is Kaur.
Is this correct ?

Absolutely , as women in Sikhism are not considered weaker, but the persons who can take on world, if need arises
she is jst not the daughter of house but she is the daughter of Guru gggggggg
KAUR actually means lioness. It stands for being strong, bold and courageous(Sherni).
